More than most places we work, Avondale households are in the thick of it — young children, two working parents, and a house that is doing several jobs at once.
That shapes the work. Playrooms and children’s bedrooms come up constantly here, and the systems have to be designed for the child, not for the photograph. If a five-year-old cannot put a toy away without help, the system has failed regardless of how it looks. We build to child height, label with pictures as well as words, and set up rotation so the room does not refill within a month.
The housing is a mix. Garden Lakes, Coldwater Springs and Rancho Santa Fe are established, with the tighter closets and cupboard pantries typical of their era. Alamar and the newer builds along the 303 corridor have the opposite issue — plenty of space, no system, and a garage absorbing whatever has not found a home.
Avondale is close enough to our base in Surprise that we can schedule flexibly here, including shorter single-space projects that would not be practical further out.
