Home organization in Sun City

The work in Sun City is different from the rest of what we do, and it deserves to be described honestly.

Most of what we are asked to do here is not a pantry refresh. It is helping someone make decisions about a house that holds thirty or forty years of a life — often ahead of a move to something smaller, sometimes after a change in the household, sometimes because the closet is simply no longer reachable.

That work cannot be rushed, and we do not rush it. We move at the pace of the person whose home it is. Nothing is discarded without your say-so, ever. If a box takes an afternoon, it takes an afternoon. Our role is to carry the physical load and to hold the structure of the decision-making, so that the hardest part — deciding what stays — is the only part you have to do.

Practically, that also means accessibility comes first. Daily items belong between knee and shoulder height. Heavy things come down off high shelves. Labels are printed large enough to read without hunting for glasses. And we handle the donation drop-off ourselves, so nothing sits in the car for three weeks.
